My WinC4D Entry

My WinC4D Entry

UPDATE

So the competition is over and unfortunately I didn't win anything, but I was up against some stiff competition! As promised, here's my entry if you haven't seen it:

Short Version:

I submitted a short video to a competition, so if you want to watch it and vote for me you can do it here:

Longer Version:

Maxon is sponsoring an awesome competition called WinC4D, so I thought I'd finally take a stab at some 3D animation and submit an entry.

Once the competition is over, I'll embed the video here, but for now, check it out on their website and let me know what you think. I definitely underestimated just how much work 3D animation takes, but I'm fairly happy with the result.

Since the entry had to be less than ten seconds, I went for a TV bumper/commercial style piece. I don't have much animation experience, so I decided to keep it fairly simple and focus on the lighting, camera work, and compositing instead.

If you like it, feel free to vote for me on their site. And if any of you have experience in this realm, I'd love to hear your feedback and what I could improve as I go forward. It's a whole new world for me so I welcome any notes!

This was definitely a great learning experience and I'm looking forward to experimenting with more 3D projects in the future. Even if I don't win, Cinema4D Lite has plenty to keep me busy for the moment.
